One of the major downsides of a sealed beam is that you cannot replace just the bulb and must go the expensive route of replacing the entire headlight assembly just to fix one burnt out bulb . For cost reasons, some of the OEM sealed head lights use a plastic lens which will have a tendency to scratch and discolor over time. The other major downside is that most sealed head light units incorporate older lighting technology, which results in a weak yellowish light when compared to IPCW’s head lights which are the current generation of cleaner, brighter, whiter lights.
IPCW head lights are better than the status que because IPCW’s sealed beam conversion kits lets you retrofit to the modern, 9003/H4 bulbs. It also gives you the ability to replace just the burnt out bulb with current generation bulbs on the market, which is a cost savings advantage.
